Role Purpose: If you are looking for the opportunity to grow your sales knowledge and skills within the meat industry, this could be the role for you! We sell natural casings, collagen casings and gels to large sausage manufacturers globally through face-to-face consultative sales in a food production environment. As the Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for the continued relationship management of our portfolio of clients throughout the United States and actively seek opportunities to grow accounts and acquire new business. Customer satisfaction is key, and you will be passionate and results-driven focusing on maintaining long-lasting relationships with existing customers and fostering opportunities for growth. Responsibilities: Initiating sales and prospecting for market share growth on both product lines (natural and collagen) with existing and new customers Relationship management maintaining a network of important potential end users within the United States, primarily though phone and email Provide accurate and timely supply of sales forecasts and sales orders to relevant departments Sales administration reporting on customer calls, sales results, customer database, market developments, product experiences and market strategy, and process these updates into the CRM system Providing technical support and advice to customers and resolve any customer complaints Market knowledge being aware of and share market and product intelligence with the customer About you: Previous sales experience and an interest of selling into meat or other food processing environments (meat would be highly desirable) Bachelors Degree in Business Management or related field is desirable but not essential Approximately 1+ years experience in a sales/account management role is essential Capable of using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint would be beneficial Experience with CRM systems e.g. Salesforce, Qliksense, JDEdwards Must have strong influencing and negotiation skills, and you will be an excellent communicator Must be proactive, results-driven and adaptable in connecting with many different people to grow and generate new client accounts Ability to use creativity to sell and solve customer issues is vital, in addition, being able to handle conflict, prevent and resolve any issues Role Location: You will need to be based in Chicagoland (ideally within 25 miles radius from downtown Chicago) to report to the office on a daily basis.
