A growing construction/manufacturing company in the Baltimore City area seeks a highly qualified Controller

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Accounting

Manage all aspects of full-cycle accounting for manufacturing operations, including general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in NetSuite, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Maintain integrity of the chart of accounts, cost centers, and reporting structures. Prepare consolidated financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS. Oversee fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and capital project tracking. Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance

Establish and maintain standard costs in NetSuite, including bills of materials and routings. Perform variance analysis (material, labor, overhead) and provide corrective action recommendations. Monitor inventory valuation, cycle counts, and reconciliation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. Analyze product margins and provide reporting on profitability by product line, plant, or business unit. Financial Planning & Reporting

Develop budgets, forecasts, and rolling projections for manufacturing operations. Provide financial analysis on production efficiency, yield, scrap, and labor utilization. Create management reports and NetSuite dashboards to support decision-making. Partner with plant leadership on cost reduction and operational improvement initiatives. Compliance & Controls

Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and financial reporting standards. Coordinate and support external audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting as needed. Strengthen process automation and internal controls within NetSuite to reduce risk. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred). 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 2 years in manufacturing. Strong background in full-cycle accounting, including month-end close and reconciliations. Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP (manufacturing, accounting, and reporting modules). Solid knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and cost accounting principles. Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
