Senior Civil Engineer

The Opportunity Were hiring a seasoned Senior Civil Engineer with a strong background in NYC agency coordination, public infrastructure, and multi-disciplinary project delivery. You'll lead impactful design projects while mentoring junior staff and engaging directly with clients and city agencies. This role offers high autonomy, the chance to own project delivery end-to-end, and the flexibility to work remotely within New York State. What Youll Do Technical Leadership Lead the design and delivery of public infrastructure projects: streetscapes, parks, utilities, drainage, stormwater, aviation, and site development
Prepare and review construction documents: grading, layout, drainage, erosion control, cost estimates, SWPPPs, and stormwater calculations
Oversee technical accuracy, adherence to budgets and timelines, and quality control
Project & Team Management Coordinate across disciplines: work directly with engineers, architects, landscape architects, surveyors, and external consultants
Mentor junior designers, delegate tasks, and foster team development
Interface with NYC agencies for permitting and regulatory compliance
Construction & Client Interaction Conduct site visits, construction administration, and agency/client meetings
Manage stakeholder expectations and contribute to long-term client relationships
Youd Be a Great Fit If You Have: 1215+ years of civil engineering experience, ideally with NYC-focused public infrastructure projects
Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Landscape Architecture
NYS PE license (strongly preferred)
Deep familiarity with NYC permitting, construction methods, and public agency standards
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D or MicroStation, and Microsoft Office; HydroCAD experience a plus
Strong project management, communication, and mentorship skills
