The Plant Manager will lead and oversee all plant operations within our food manufacturing facility, including

production, maintenance, and facilities management . This role is accountable for achieving operational excellence by ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, cost control, and compliance with all food safety and regulatory standards. The Plant Manager will provide strong leadership, develop high-performing teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that support company growth and customer satisfaction.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership Direct and oversee daily production activities to ensure output, efficiency, and quality standards are consistently met. Develop and implement production schedules, capacity planning, and performance metrics. Ensure compliance with

food safety, GMP, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirements .

Maintenance & Facilities Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime. Manage facilities operations, including utilities, building systems, and capital improvement projects. Partner with engineering and vendors to implement upgrades and ensure compliance with safety/environmental standards.

People Management Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, technicians, and production teams. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Drive employee engagement and retention through communication, recognition, and training initiatives.

Financial & Strategic Management Develop and manage plant budgets, including labor, maintenance, capital projects, and operating costs. Analyze KPIs and operational data to identify cost savings and efficiency opportunities. Partner with senior leadership to set long-term plant goals and execute strategic initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

Minimum

7-10 years of leadership experience

in food manufacturing, with oversight of production, maintenance, and/or facilities. Strong knowledge of

food safety systems

(HACCP, GMP, SQF/BRC, FDA, USDA regulations). Demonstrated success in

Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement

initiatives. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, build talent, and drive cultural change. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
