SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Operations Manager oversees daily workflow and dispatch coordination activities across Rite Ways carrier network. This includes supervising dispatchers, confirming broker load assignments, optimizing carrier schedules, and ensuring compliance with FMCSA regulations. The Operations Manager is responsible for driving efficiency, managing communication, and ensuring operational excellence from a remote position.
SCHEDULED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee day-to-day dispatch operations, ensuring efficiency and service reliability
Supervise and support remote dispatch staff and logistics assistants
Assign loads to carriers and ensure timely communication with brokers and drivers
Monitor TMS tools, load boards (e.g., DAT, Truckstop), and driver tracking platforms
Resolve issues related to route delays, equipment breakdowns, or documentation discrepancies
Communicate professionally with shippers, receivers, and partners as needed
Ensure proper documentation of BOLs, rate confirmations, and dispatch notes
Maintain compliance files (MC/DOT numbers, insurance, IFTA, ELD reports)
Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, driver utilization, and carrier revenue performance
Train new team members and implement process improvements
UNSCHEDULED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cover open shifts or emergencies due to absences or peak workloads
Assist with dispute resolution between drivers and brokers
Participate in client onboarding calls or operational planning sessions
Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, routing efficiency, or carrier retention
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Frequent digital communication via Slack, Zoom, email, and dispatch software
WORKING CONDITIONS:
100% remote
Fast-paced, deadline-driven dispatch environment
Must have access to a reliable computer, internet connection, and quiet work area
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong understanding of freight dispatching and logistics workflows
Proficient in English (verbal and written)
Tech-savvy with the ability to use Google Workspace, TMS platforms, and load boards
Minimum 1 year of experience in dispatching, logistics, or remote operations coordination
Reliable, self-directed, and organized with strong time management skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience dispatching dry van, reefer, or flatbed freight
Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, BOLs, rate confirmations, and MC/DOT compliance
Prior experience using systems like DAT, Truckstop.com, and ELD monitoring platforms
Experience working in a U.S.-based freight dispatching or brokerage company
