Marketing and Communications Manager

Position Summary:
The Marketing & Communications Manager at the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM) is responsible for developing and leading the execution of marketing and communications strategies that enhance ISTM’s visibility, support engagement and membership growth, and promote its programs, initiatives, and mission globally. The position works collaboratively across departments and with leadership to support ISTM’s strategic goals related to awareness, registration, revenue, and impact.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns for ISTM’s programs, events, webinars, and member offerings.
Serve as project manager for marketing deliverables, ensuring timely and effective execution.
Manage ISTM’s marketing and communications calendar and internal campaign timelines.
Develop branded marketing collateral aligned (such as slides, social media assets, printed content) with ISTM’s mission.
Lead targeted email marketing strategies, drip campaigns, list segmentation, and lead data management.
Analyze marketing campaign results and continuously optimize performance and ROI.
Coordinate go-to-market strategies for new programs and resources with content owners.
Maintain and improve ISTM’s website, focusing on user experience, content accuracy, SEO, and lead generation.
Develop and manage social media strategies to enhance global engagement and outreach.
Track and report on marketing and communication metrics for leadership and board reporting.
Enforce ISTM’s brand identity and guidelines across all communication platforms and collateral.
Support internal and external communications projects as needed within the marketing scope.
Work with a range of different stakeholder (including staff, volunteers, Society leadership_ to realize ISTM’s marketing objectives
Experience Requirements:
5+ years of progressive experience in marketing and communications.
Experience developing, managing, and implementing effective online and electronic marketing communications.
Experience in the non-profit sector and/or a medical/scientific association is preferred but not required.
Technical Skills:
Expert knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X/Twitter and other forms of social media, including Facebook Insights, Hootsuite, and other analytical tools.
Expert knowledge in WordPress; experience with Kadence theme is a plus
Expert knowledge in managing the production of newsletters.
Knowledge in online communities, such as Higher Logic.
Proficiency with InDesign, Photoshop, Canva and MS Office suite preferred.
Experience with remote project management software is helpful.
