JOB DESCRIPTION
Chubb Personal Risk Services offers property and casualty insurance products for individuals and families with high-value assets. Our clients include affluent families, executives, business owners, and collectors of art, jewelry, wine, and automobiles.
We are seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) for our Richmond, Virginia territory. The BDM will manage agency relationships, acquire new clients, and handle renewals for assigned tier 1 and 2 agents and brokers. Preference is for candidates to reside near our Richmond (Glen Allen) Branch.
The BDM reports directly to the VP Personal Lines Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop agency assessments and business plans to grow new business, retain existing clients, and cross-sell services. Identify new clients with annual premiums between $5,000 and $250,000+ through pipeline development and territory management. Follow up on quotes and optimize them in collaboration with agents. Manage renewal retention by effectively communicating rate and exposure changes using value-based selling. Implement best practices for new and renewal accounts in the premier segment. Cross-sell and upsell to existing clients through account rounding initiatives. Support assigned agencies with training on Chubb's products, services, and competitive advantages; communicate product and rate changes. Address agency inquiries related to billing, policy services, claims, commissions, and licensing. Coordinate with home office initiatives and marketing campaigns, attending related events. Follow disciplined sales processes, including Salesforce documentation. Analyze book of business to identify trends and opportunities. Build trusted agency relationships primarily through in-person visits. Participate in internal meetings and report on performance. Collaborate with agents, underwriting, and other departments on client acquisition, retention, and cross-selling. Qualifications
