Job Title: Purchasing/ Procurement Manager

Location: St Louis, MO

Salary: $100k-130k

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing/Procurement Manager to join our team. As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing activities of our organization, ensuring that we have the necessary materials and supplies to meet our production needs. You will work closely with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage the procurement process from start to finish.

As the Procurement Manager, you will lead the procurement function within our consumer products manufacturing operations. Your role will encompass developing and executing procurement strategies, nurturing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely material delivery while upholding cost-effectiveness and quality benchmarks. We seek an individual with strong leadership acumen, strategic vision, and a profound grasp of supply chain dynamics in the consumer products sector.

Primary Responsibilities

Devise and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals, emphasizing cost reduction, quality enhancement, and supplier diversification. Assess, select, and manage suppliers based on factors such as price, quality, reliability, and sustainability criteria. Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to secure advantageous terms while minimizing risks. Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams including production, finance, shipping, and customer service to ensure smooth procurement operations. Monitor inventory levels and deploy inventory management strategies to optimize working capital and prevent stockouts. Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance, address issues promptly, and implement corrective measures as required. Stay abreast of market trends, industry shifts, and regulatory updates impacting procurement practices in the consumer products domain. Leverage procurement software and tools to streamline processes, track key metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Lead efforts to promote sustainability and ethical sourcing practices throughout the supply chain, in line with corporate social responsibility objectives. Undertake additional duties as assigned by management. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the consumer products manufacturing sector. Demonstrated success in supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost-saving initiatives. Proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to interpret trends and make informed decisions. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, fostering effective relationships with stakeholders. Familiarity with procurement software such as Infor, Syteline, or similar platforms is advantageous. Certification in procurement (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is desirable but not mandatory.
