Reports To: Chief Inspector
Position Summary
The
Assistant Chief Inspector (ACI)
is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of aircraft airworthiness processes. The ACI has the authority to establish and modify policies, procedures, instructions, and information related to Aircraft Airworthiness, Airworthiness Release/Logbook Entry, Required Inspection Items (RII), and Receiving Inspections, as directed by the Chief Inspector.
Qualifications
The Assistant Chief Inspector must: Be
qualified
to exercise control over operations through
training, experience, and expertise . Hold a mechanic's certificate
with both
Airframe and Powerplant ratings
for a minimum of
three (3) years
(14 CFR 119.67(d)(1)). Have at least
three (3) years of maintenance experience
on large airplanes (10+ passenger seats) with an
air carrier
or
certificated repair station , including at least
one (1) year
as a
maintenance inspector . Maintain
proficiency and currency in Global Crossing Airlines' operations through company-approved training programs, continuing education, and on-the-job functions in:
Aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
(14 CFR 119.65(d)(2)(i)) Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)
(14 CFR 119.65(d)(2)(ii)) Global X Airlines Operations Specifications (Ops Specs)
(14 CFR 119.65(d)(2)(iii)) Global X Airlines Manuals
as required by 14 CFR 121.133 (14 CFR 119.65(d)(2)(v)) Appropriate maintenance and airworthiness regulations , including but not limited to 14 CFR Parts 1, 21, 23, 25, 39, 43, 45, 47, 65, 91, and 121.
Primary Responsibilities
Aircraft Conformity and Airworthiness
Approve the
addition or removal
of aircraft from the
Operations Specifications (OpSpecs)
following a conformity check. Assist in maintaining
quality control
over the
Maintenance Ferry Flight process . Oversee and ensure compliance with
Airworthiness Release and Aircraft Logbook Entry
processes. Verify that all qualified and certified
Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs)
authorized for airworthiness release are properly
trained
and that training records are maintained. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
Review, issue, and track
Airworthiness Directives (ADs) , repetitive inspections, planned modifications, alterations, and changes to aircraft, engines, and components. Ensure the
Minimum Equipment List (MEL)
is properly maintained and updated, including
Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) limitations
per FAA Master MEL guidance. Submit
regulatory reports , including:
Service Difficulty Reports ( SDRs ) Mechanical Interruption Summary Reports ( MISR ) Alterations and Repair Reports
Maintenance Program & Inspection Oversight
Assist with the
Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP) , ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and FAA approval. Evaluate
Technical Operations
procedures for effectiveness and recommend revisions through
Management of Change (MOC)
per MPP 11.12.3. Maintain the
MEL Effectivity Matrix (GCA-CL-TO-325) . Ensure
MEL Effectivity is updated when:
A new aircraft is added to the fleet Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) or Service Bulletins (SBs) are incorporated New equipment is installed on an aircraft
Quality Assurance & Required Inspections
Assist the Chief Inspector in overseeing
Quality Assurance functions
and aircraft/component inspections. Support the
Required Inspection Item (RII) process , including:
Developing and maintaining the
RII List Oversight of
vendor RII processes , ensuring compliance from
Essential Maintenance Providers (EMPs) Administration and training of
RII designees
and
RII instructors
Continuous Airworthiness & Vendor Oversight
Assist with the
Continuous Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS)
and its
modification and improvement . Support
Essential Maintenance Provider (EMP) audits
to approve
AVL additions
for vendors and contracted maintenance providers. Chief Inspector Authority Delegation
Assume the
authority of the Chief Inspector
in their absence, provided requirements outlined in Global X Airlines Management Policies and Procedures Manual (MPP) 2.8 are met. Key Competencies
Strong knowledge of
FAA regulations ,
airworthiness requirements , and
quality assurance . Experience in
aircraft maintenance oversight
and
regulatory compliance . Ability to lead and train personnel in
airworthiness procedures . Proficiency in
technical report writing
and
regulatory submissions . Effective decision-making and
problem-solving
skills.
