A national engineering firm is seeking a motivated
Transmission Line Engineer II
to join its growing team in
Marietta, GA . This is a full-time, direct hire role offering long-term career potential, exposure to utility-scale power delivery projects, and opportunities to eventually take on more senior responsibilities.
What you'll be doing:
Design and support high-voltage transmission line projects from 44kV to 750kV.
Assist in developing full engineering design packages including structure layout, bill of materials, and specifications.
Utilize tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, MFAD, and Electrical CAD to create and refine design models.
Participate in planning, cost estimating, scheduling, and technical documentation.
Collaborate with clients and project teams to support timelines and technical quality.
Contribute to continuous improvement, process development, and team knowledge sharing.
Visit job sites and help troubleshoot design issues during construction. What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
1-3 years of engineering experience in the power delivery sector.
EIT preferred; must be actively working toward PE licensure.
Understanding of transmission line components (structures, grounding, sag and tension, clearances).
Familiarity with utility codes and standards including NESC, ASCE, ACI, and IEEE.
Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. What's in it for you:
