Our client, a national engineering firm and industry leader in utility-scale transmission design, is seeking multiple
Transmission Line Engineers (Level 2 or 3)
to join their growing team in
Lutz, FL . With aggressive expansion plans and up to 70 engineering hires nationwide, this is a chance to join a company with strong momentum and long-term growth opportunities.
What you'll be doing:
Provide design, technical support, and oversight for high-voltage transmission line projects (44kV-750kV), including renewable interconnections and grid modernization. Utilize tools such as PLS-CADD, MFAD, Venture 3D, and Electrical CAD depending on level and focus. Serve as technical lead and/or QA on projects (for PE-level roles), supporting EITs working toward licensure. Participate in planning, scheduling, estimating, and reporting on engineering activities to ensure project deadlines are met. Deliver high-quality design packages including drawings, BOMs, specs, and estimates. Engage directly with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure technical needs and project expectations are met. Mentor and oversee junior staff and drafters. What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Level 2:
2+ years of experience in transmission design; preferably pursuing PE licensure but not required Level 3 : PE license or within a year of licensure; typically 5-7+ years of high-voltage transmission line design experience. Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, MFAD, and related engineering software tools. Strong understanding of utility standards and design principles including NESC, ASCE, and IEEE. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in team settings. Strong initiative and a commitment to meeting deadlines-success is measured by project delivery timelines. What's in it for you:
