Position Overview:
A leading food manufacturing facility is seeking a skilled and motivated
Maintenance Technician
to join its 24/7 production operation. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment in a modern, fast-paced environment where personal and professional growth is encouraged. Maintenance Technicians play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all plant systems-including processing, packaging, warehouse operations, and supporting utilities.
Key Responsibilities: Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on highly automated equipment including fillers, case packers, and palletizers Maintain and support building utilities such as boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, air compressors, and wastewater systems Collaborate with the Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to address technical challenges and improve system reliability Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with safety standards and food production quality guidelines Support general facility upkeep and building maintenance as needed Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), safety protocols, and standard operating procedures Core Technical Skills: Electrical: Read and interpret electrical schematics and documentation Troubleshoot 480V 3-phase systems and low-voltage controls Experience with VFDs and servo systems Mechanical: Welding (MIG, TIG, and Arc) Repair and maintenance of pumps, valves, gearboxes Pneumatic and hydraulic systems operation Machine shop skills (mill and lathe) Controls: Troubleshoot and interpret Allen Bradley PLCs (SLC 500, PLC 5, Logix 5000) Understanding of automated manufacturing systems Manufacturing Utilities: Experience with conveyors, palletizers, and case packing equipment Familiarity with industrial utility systems (high-pressure boilers, ammonia refrigeration, air compressors, wastewater systems) Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications preferred Experience in a food or dairy production environment is a plus Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities such as standing, bending, lifting, and twisting throughout a shift Strong teamwork, multitasking, and problem-solving skills Must follow safety regulations and GMP protocols at all times
