Masters Degree Preferred Position Summary
This position provides expertise on postsecondary disability service provision via consultation, presentations, and committee membership; promotes and maintains contact between designated University System of Georgia (USG) colleges and universities and the UGA Regents Center for Learning Disorders (RCLD); and serves on the RCLD management team to ensure the smooth running of the center. Duties/Responsibilities
Direct the outside review consultation service:
Oversee documentation submission, storage, and response processes, manage the database storing the determinations made by the outside review team, serve as a review team member, and draft and send response letters.
Percentage of time:
40 Act as consultant to USG disability service providers:
Consult on accommodation determination cases, develop policies and procedures, provide guidance on disability matters, manage a regional listserv, host two regional meetings per year, and plan an annual statewide conference.
Percentage of time:
35 Serve as a member of management team:
Participate in developing and implementing policies and procedures, handle unexpected difficulties, act in the directors stead when requested.
Percentage of time:
10 Engage in community outreach and education:
Provide workshops, educational presentations, and serve on task forces to support K-12 goals for students with disabilities.
Percentage of time:
5 Provide transition consultations:
Promote and provide a consultation service for students with disabilities and their parents.
Percentage of time:
5 Facilitate the referral process for RCLD evaluations:
Respond to inquiries from students, parents, and disability service professionals.
