Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Medical Records Specialist to join our Health Information Management team. This role is responsible for processing requests for medical records and itemized bills in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process requests for medical records and itemized bills in accordance with federal and state regulations.
• Ensure timely and accurate release of information while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and third-party requestors.
• Utilize EPIC to retrieve and manage medical records.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HIPAA and other relevant release of information regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications:
• Experience: 2–3 years of clerical experience in a healthcare setting.
• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Prior experience in a medical office or Health Information Management department preferred.
• Experience with EPIC or other Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Details:
• Pay cycle – weekly | medical, dental & vision benefits offered
• Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00am – 4:30pm (40 hours per week)
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
