Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions in an outpatient setting, including administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other treatments. Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and assess patients' responses to treatment, making timely interventions as necessary. Educate patients and their families about their diagnosis, treatment plan, side effects, and self-care strategies to empower them in their care journey. Manage and alleviate treatment-related symptoms and side effects, ensuring patients' comfort and well-being throughout their care. Work closely with oncologists, hematologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient. Provide emotional support to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and helping them navigate the complexities of cancer care. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements. Advocate for your patients' needs, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and that their treatment plans are aligned with their goals and preferences. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, improve treatment protocols, and promote safety in the outpatient setting. Candidate requirements
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington. Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology nursing, preferably in an outpatient or hematology setting. OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) preferred; BLS certification required. National Provider NRP - American Academy of Pediatrics certification required upon hire. Strong clinical assessment abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in chemotherapy administration, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
