$36.87 - $47.93

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE

Provides higher level support for the laboratory section, often involving (but not limited to) specialized testing, Quality Assurance development, and/or development and implementation of new procedures. Performs testing and complex interpretation of results. Keeps meticulous notes in regard to experimental methods, data, and conclusions, as applicable. Develops and maintains applicable standard operating procedures and policies in collaboration with laboratory area leadership. Communicates with internal and external clients clearly and professionally.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assists and leads in the development of new methods and procedures, as needed.

Performs the duties of a Medical Technologist 2.

Prepares and analyzes patient samples using current complex laboratory methods/instruments.

Determines specimen integrity prior to analysis.

Reports results of patient sample analysis using computer/instrument interface options.

Trains other technologists on new laboratory methods/instruments and ensures compliance with accepted practices.

Maintains compliance of area specific documentation for essential technical, IT, quality, and/or safety information

Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory instruments.

Provides input into the performance evaluations/competency checks of technologists, technicians, and other personnel.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in medical technology and 4 years of relevant clinical laboratory experience required

Master's degree in related field and 2 years relevant lab experience preferred

Or equivalent combination of education and experience

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Licensed Clinical Lab Technologist per New York State upon hire required
