Schowalter Villa is looking for a Certified Nurse Aide to join our team as a part-time Restorative Aide! The schedule for this position is Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of a Restorative Aide is to assist residents in maintaining or improving their level of function through restorative nursing programs.

Essential Job Functions:

Carry out recommended rehabilitation/restorative care:

Assist residents in performing exercises and ambulating to improve strength and levels of functioning Assure residents' privacy and dignity when providing care Identify and address residents by name of choice before providing care in accordance with their care plan Take vital signs as needed Interact with residents in a warm, personal manner and provides a calm environment:

Provide opportunities for the residents to talk, and listens attentively Warmly greet residents upon admission Introduce new resident to staff and other residents as appropriate. Communicate residents' care needs with peers and supervisors:

Promptly report changes in residents' conditions to licensed nurse Document and evaluate residents' care needs and progress:

Document residents' progress when providing rehabilitation/restorative care, gives to Care Plan Team, and write monthly progress reports Complete medical forms, reports, evaluations, and studies as necessary Assist in completing incident and /or accident forms Chart all information regarding care of residents in accordance with federal, state and facility polices Participate in the development and implementation of the residents' plan of Care (POC):

Attend POC meetings when appropriate and assist with restorative POC/MDS Ensure that follow-up care is conducted according to the Restorative Program after resident is dismissed from physical or occupational therapy Attend Medicare meetings and gives input involving residents' restorative care needs Assists in the admission process:

Assist residents and their family in completing inventory form Measure residents' height and weight upon admission and as required thereafter Prepare wheelchairs and walkers as needed Assist residents in activities of daily living:

Assist in feeding, dressing, and toileting residents as needed Assist residents to and from restorative department to group activities and to meals Accompany residents on outings as needed Assist with loading and unloading residents to and from vehicles as necessary Assist in Interdepartmental training/orientation:

Assist in orientation of new Restorative Aides Assist in the orientation process for CNA's and CMA's as it pertains to rehabilitation/restorative care. Qualifications and Experience:

Must be eighteen (18) years of age. Must be Certified Nurse Aide in Kansas. Prefer Restorative Aide training.

Physical Requirements:

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
