We are looking for a full-time PACU RN to join our Everett Road Ambulatory Surgery Center team! The PACU RN will assist in providing high quality care during the post-op phase of the patient's visit.
Schedules are Monday through Friday; No weekends, holidays, or on-call.
Pay is based on years of experience
Responsibilities:
Assess patients’ post-operative condition;
Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress to ensure patient is meeting discharge criteria;
Document all findings in patient files;
Answer patient questions to ensure patient comfort;
Monitor patients for condition changes, report any changes to physician;
Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies;
Gather pertinent medical history and provide concise instruction for pre-operative and post-operative care;
Delivers organized care by prioritizing care needs and tasks effectively. Positively adapts to changes in patients condition, assignment and expectations. Maintains clean, orderly environment of care.
Other responsibilities as needed/assigned.
Qualifications:
Current unrestricted NYS RN license;
Minimum of 2 years previous PACU or critical care experience required;
Ability to effectively communicate with providers, patients and peers;
Candidate must demonstrate aptitude for maintaining pace of abbreviated patient encounters, keeping flow to reasonable time frame in post-operative care;
Specialized knowledge, skill and abilities in perioperative nursing;
Capable of decision making when applicable
