Assistant Finance Manager/ Senior Accountant (with experience in construction field)
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented mid-career Accountant with a
strong background in construction
or prior experience in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with industry-specific accounting standards, and providing accurate financial insights to support project management and organizational goals. The Role
Oversee financial management, including accurate preparation of financial statements, job costing, billing, and account reconciliations. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations while managing AP, AR, and expense allocations. Monitor and manage project budgets, costs, and profitability, ensuring alignment with forecasts and identifying actionable insights. Oversee subcontractor payments, retainages, and lien waivers, collaborating with project managers to control expenses effectively. Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and industry standards, assisting in tax filings and coordinating with auditors and government agencies. Generate financial reports and dashboards to aid senior management in decision-making. Analyze construction trends and provide insights for cost-saving and operational efficiency improvements. Utilize construction management software and ERP systems to maintain accurate financial records while identifying and implementing process improvements in construction accounting. The Person
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related field with a qualified accountancy degree (CPA, ACCA, CA). At least 5-8 years of accounting experience, including 2-3 years in construction accounting with expertise in job costing, WIP reporting, and progress billing. Proficient in accounting software, construction management tools, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environments. Knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., lump-sum, cost-plus, or time-and-material). Familiarity with construction-specific tax regulations and reporting requirements.
