The University of Nevada is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 2 for the department of Residential Life, Housing, and Food Services. This position will serve as a primary contact for the central office and provide direct administrative support to the Director and Associate Directors for Housing Operations and Food Services. The position will also be able to receive and process license agreements. The Administrative Assistant 2 responsibilities will include obtaining and processing billing information, preparing and balancing documentation and forms; performing data entry, filing, and mailing; assist in special projects, including checking enrollment; assist clientele in person and on phone; resolving and investigating customer complaints; scheduling appointments; creating and maintaining calendars for departmental faculty; arranging internal and external meetings. This position must be familiar with personnel policies and procedures and serve as a departmental resource for personnel matters, maintaining confidentiality. The ideal candidate will oversee the reception and other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education and two (2) years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR One (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above This position requires knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Preferred Qualifications Candidates with experience with MS Word, PeopleSoft, StarRez, and Blackboard are encouraged to apply. Schedule The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. Compensation Grade Grade 25 (Entry, Step 01 $20.42/hr. Step 03 $22.13/hr.) In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity, and budgets.
