AIX System Engineer

Matlen Silver is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer Consultant to lead and participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex AIX and Linux engineering activities involving cross-functional implementation, support, and data center capabilities. You will be responsible for components of highly complex engineering and analytical tasks and activities, and will be viewed as a technology subject matter expert that must provide complex technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and vendors. Required Skills Senior level experience primarily with IBM AIX & RHEL on Power Operating Systems. Experience with RedHat Linux 8/9, VMWare, and Red Hat Satellite technologies. Proficient in performing OS administration tasks on RHEL6, RHEL7 running on ESX virtualized servers. In depth Linux knowledge required, including LVM and SAN multipathing Shell scripting and other automation skills. Expertise supporting AIX V7, NIM, advanced AIX Virtualization, PowerHA, EMC Timefinder & Snapvx Technologies. Experience installing and configuring VIO Servers and client configurations. Familiarity with pSeries AIX server models and HMC Consoles. Knowledge of SAN based disk solutions and their configurations. Familiarity with tools like BladeLogic, DNT, ESM, Ansible, is a huge plus.
