Responsibilities: Work independently with minimal supervision. Perform cleaning and lubrication on machinery components including shafts, bearings, and gears. Troubleshoot and repair various types of machinery, such as slitters, welders, conveyors, and palletizers. Install and maintain piping systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Conduct building maintenance tasks including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep. Diagnose and repair electrical issues as they arise. Familiarize yourself with our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and log labor and parts according to expectations. Be willing to work overtime, including weekends and off-shifts as required. Participate in the on-call program and be available for additional hours during off-shifts as necessary. Understand quality standards, PPE requirements, safety, and the importance of following safety protocols. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent; technical degree in a maintenance-related field is preferred. Minimum of 2 years experience as a maintenance mechanic in a metal manufacturing environment, with troubleshooting skills preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice and ISO9001 standards for metals manufacturing. Experience with PLCs is preferred. Proficient in using various types of welding, cutting, machines, and hand tools. Experience in high-speed packaging, welding, and mechanical power transmission is a plus. Work Environment: This role involves frequent walking, standing for extended periods, and using arms and hands for tasks such as reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crawling. The employee may occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees will often be exposed to moving mechanical parts and may work with materials that could irritate skin and breathing; proper personal protective equipment is essential.
