SUMMARY :Under the direction of the School Safety and Crisis Manager and School Administrator, the School Safety and Prevention Specialist (SSPS) patrols the school campus to ensure the safety and protection of students, staff, and property. They serve as a proactive team member focused on relationship based and student-centered preventative strategies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
High school graduation or GED equivalent Two years of college course work in an applicable field preferred Two years of experience working with middle and/or high school age youth LICENSE/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must pass a pre-employment physical Possession of a valid Washington State Driver's License and access to personal vehicle CPR, AED, and First Aid preferred WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Generally, the job requires 60% walking, 20% standing and 20% sitting. The job is performed in an indoor and outdoor environment and is subject to various temperature variations and adverse weather conditions in a generally hazard free environment, and in a clean atmosphere. The usual and customary methods of performing the functions of the job require the following physical demands:
Occasionally reaching and handling Seldom to frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling Seldom stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling
