The Diabetes, Obesity and Complications Therapeutic Area (DOCTA) focuses on biologic, small molecule, and genetic therapeutics for diabetes, obesity, and related complications. The successful candidate will support data, tools, and infrastructure for clinical research, integrating and analyzing genomic, proteomic, metabolomic, and phenotypic data from clinical trials on cloud-based platforms. You will operate as part of the DOCTA Data Science and Computational Biology (DSCB) team, partnering with scientists and clinicians to: Design and implement workflows for genomic data analysis, focusing on WES and WGS datasets. Collaborate with clinicians, statisticians, and biologists to develop hypotheses and analysis plans. Analyze multi-omics data, contributing to data interpretation and biological insights. Apply statistical methods like finemapping, colocalization, and causal inference for drug discovery. Streamline genomics workflows, build databases, and create visualizations. Participate in scientific discussions and communicate findings effectively. Maintain expertise through literature review, conferences, and networking. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in Statistical Genetics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or related field. M.S. with 5+ years of experience in genetics and genomics. Additional Skills / Preferences Proven accomplishments in genetics data analysis. Strong programming skills for statistical genetics. Experience with AI/ML and public databases like UK Biobank. Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary teams. Knowledge of genetic and genomic data analysis, multi-omics data, and causal inference methods.
