Join Design Group as a
Project Manager
and be part of a team that challenges and nurtures your growth. Collaborate with industry experts to solve complex problems for leading companies, particularly within our Packaging Engineering Practice, delivering high-quality solutions with consistency and precision. What Youll Do Lead the design, integration, installation, and start-up of packaging lines for the food and beverage industries. Provide engineering leadership with a solid understanding of process, utility, packaging systems, CAD drafting, controls, equipment procurement, installation, training, and start-up. Manage projects to ensure they are delivered on budget and schedule, supervise contractors, and identify new business opportunities. Support machine safety projects across all markets supported by Design Group. Implement comprehensive safety solutions throughout the safety lifecycle, including assessments, standard creation, detailed design, hardware procurement, verification, mechanical guarding, implementation, contractor management, and safety validation. Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of project execution including line layout, mechanical design, vendor management, procurement, scheduling, finances, and installation support. Define scope for machine safety compliance and execute safety lifecycle solutions. Lead design, integration, installation, and start-up of capital projects, including estimation, justification, budgeting, scheduling, design, implementation, and troubleshooting. Develop equipment specifications, support systems design, and analyze bids. Coordinate with vendors and contractors to implement automation solutions. Apply industry-standard tools for continuous improvement projects. Evaluate existing operations for ROI and productivity improvements. Specify tooling and equipment needs within timelines. Maintain and grow strong client relationships.
What Youll Bring B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or related field. At least 7 years of project engineering/management experience with packaging or manufacturing automation. Experience in food, beverage, household products, or personal care industries preferred. Experience with machine safety solutions or certifications such as CMSE or TV Rheinland certifications preferred. Strong engineering, leadership, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with clients and suppliers. Ability to develop and maintain client relationships. Willingness to travel as needed for project activities and industry events.
