Project Manager , you are joining a team that will challenge you and position you for growth. In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the worlds leading companies solve their most difficult problems. You will join our Packaging Engineering Practice and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy. What Youll Do As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the design, integration, installation, and start-up of packaging lines for food and beverage industries. You will provide engineering leadership and a solid understanding of process, utility, packaging systems, drafting (CAD), controls, equipment procurement, installation, training, and start-up. Qualified candidates will have a proven track record of delivering projects on budget & schedule, managing complex scopes, managing client interaction & expectations, supervising contractors, and helping develop new business opportunities. The role supports machine safety projects across all markets that Design Group supports, including assessments, safety standard creation, detailed safety design, hardware procurement, safety circuit verification, mechanical guarding, implementation, contractor management, project management, and safety validation. Responsibilities: Accountable for all aspects of project execution including line layout engineering, mechanical design, vendor/contractor management, equipment procurement, schedule management, project finances, site management, and installation support. Define the scope of supply for machine safety compliance and implement safety life cycle solutions. Lead the design, integration, installation, and start-up of packaging lines, including estimation, budget, schedule, design, implementation, acquisition, installation, start-up, troubleshooting, and documentation. Develop equipment design, specifications, support systems, and bid analyses. Communicate with vendors (OEMs) and contractors to implement automation solutions. Provide engineering solutions for continuous improvement using industry tools and procedures. Evaluate existing operations and initiate projects for ROI and productivity improvements. Specify tooling and packaging equipment for projects within timelines. Develop and grow client relationships. What Youll Bring B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent. Minimum 7 years of project engineering/management experience with packaging systems or manufacturing automation. Experience in food, beverage, household products, or personal care industries preferred. Experience with machine safety solutions or certifications (e.g., CMSE, TV Rheinland). Strong engineering and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
