Administrative Assistant 1
Location:
Atlanta, GA
Contract- 6 Months
Client- Georgia Power Position Overview
The Administrative Assistant provides vital support to the
Environmental Affairs Department
of Georgia Power, working across teams that span
laboratory, field, project management, and corporate operations . This position requires strong initiative, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a
fast-paced utility environment . The role involves a balance of administrative, financial, and operational tasks that directly contribute to compliance, environmental stewardship, and organizational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Timekeeping & Reporting:
Process employee time and attendance accurately. Expense & Invoice Management:
Prepare monthly procurement card expense statements, reconcile invoices, and process check requests. Calendar & Meeting Support:
Manage executive calendars; organize meeting arrangements, logistics, catering, and video conferencing. Travel Coordination:
Arrange travel and accommodations as needed. Document & Records Management:
Maintain SharePoint, S:Drive, Teams access, and Outlook distribution lists; oversee filing, faxing, and archiving. Procurement & Supply Chain Support:
Manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supply chain logistics. Communication & Presentations:
Prepare PowerPoint presentations, department communications, and professional correspondence. Budget & Financial Tracking:
Support budget preparation, monthly accruals, and tracking of department spending. Administrative Support:
Order office/breakroom supplies; answer phones; maintain copier/printer vendor relationships. Collaboration:
Provide support to both
Environmental Lab teams and Corporate Office staff ; assist with cross-departmental projects as needed. Job Requirements Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Administrative/clerical certification such as
CPS
or
CAP
desired but not required.
Experience: Administrative experience in a
fast-paced utility or technical environment
strongly preferred. Experience supporting
large teams or departments
highly desired. Timekeeping, expense reporting, invoice reconciliation, and meeting coordination experience required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to represent the department with professionalism in interactions with executives, employees, vendors, and partners. Skilled in
multi-tasking, prioritization, and meeting deadlines
with minimal supervision. Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
and ability to create impactful presentations. Ability to leverage resources and synthesize business data into effective communications. Knowledge of (or ability to learn)
Southern Company systems and tools
for timekeeping, travel, expenses, and purchase orders. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a
team player
across multiple departments. High attention to detail, strong judgment, and ability to manage confidential information.
