Summary Certified Surgical Technologist
Location:
Carroll Hospital, Westminster, MD
Schedule:

Were seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
Certified Surgical Technologist
who is committed to patient safety, surgical excellence, and continuous professional development. Responsibilities:
Collect and prepare all supplies and equipment for surgical procedures in alignment with case resource maps.
Set up surgical cases using strict aseptic technique in accordance with AORN standards.
Assist with safe patient positioning and transfers under the direction of the RN or physician.
Ensure accurate instrument, sponge, and sharps counts; report any discrepancies immediately.
Handle surgical specimens properly per department protocol.
Assist with dressing application, cast/splint placement, and post-op patient care tasks.
Clean and turn over surgical rooms efficiently between cases.
Participate in orientation of new staff and students using positive, supportive methods.
Use supplies efficiently and contribute to cost-containment efforts.
Ensure safety and functionality of all surgical equipment; report and remove malfunctioning items.
Maintain effective communication with colleagues, physicians, and other hospital staff.
Take responsibility for personal and professional development, attending meetings and educational programs regularly.
Requirements:
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
American Heart Association
Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification
Previous surgical tech experience preferred
Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and surgical instruments
