Medical Assistant - MedPoint Urgent Care

About the Role: As a Medical Assistant at MedPoint Urgent Care, you'll play a vital role on the front lines of patient care. Working closely with Physicians and Providers, you'll support clinical and administrative functions to ensure efficient, compassionate, and high-quality care in a fast-paced urgent care setting. Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support Assist providers with exams, minor procedures, wound care, and emergencies Collect and process lab specimens, perform point-of-care testing, EKGs, and administer injections Accurately document medical history, vital signs, and assist with medication administration Prepare patients and exam rooms, clean/sterilize equipment, restock supplies Perform triage, assess acuity, and alert the team for urgent cases Educate patients on treatments, ortho devices, and follow-up care Administrative Tasks
Greet and check in patients, answer phones, manage messages Maintain accurate patient records and complete referral and workers' comp documentation Handle DOT and employment screenings (including vitals, drug screens, vision/hearing tests) Coordinate referrals and schedule follow-ups Support communication between patients, providers, and other locations Team & Organizational Engagement
Attend team meetings, complete required training and certifications (e.g., CPR/BCLS) Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives Float between Urgent Care locations as needed Adhere to safety, compliance, and infection control standards What We're Looking For
Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred Medical office or clinical experience is a plus Bilingual in Spanish is desirable Must be at least 17 years old Skills & Qualifications
Proficient in patient care techniques, vitals, venipuncture, and EKGs Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills Comfortable using computers and electronic medical records (EMRs) Able to lift 50+ lbs and stand/walk for long periods Flexibility to work varied hours and locations Our Mission, Values, and Culture Mission:
