Job Details: Mercer Medicine is searching for a Physician Assistant for the Macon, Georgia clinic location.
Responsibilities : Provide primary health care to patients in the general population under the supervision of a physician, the Georgia Scope of Practice, and written approval protocols.
Qualifications :
This position requires a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited college/university, a current Physician Assistant, PA-C and at least one year of experience in a general clinic situation, preferably a physician practice. Candidate must provide a certificate of current liability insurance coverage. Experience working in a family practice setting is a plus as is prescription authority from the DEA.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities : Competent in providing Basic Life Support (with current certification).
Capable of examining and evaluating patient signs/symptoms and initiates treatment as indicated within their scope of practice.
Has prescriptive authority by using our MD's DEA or has their own DEA.
Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Microsoft Office Applications and intermediate computer skills and experience or ability to utilize EMR (Athena).
Able to work as team player with clinic colleagues and department as a whole.
Must be flexible
Maintains appropriate professional patient-clinician relationships.
Ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
Must possess the ability to provide overall care including: Developing treatment plans for acute and chronic diseases;
Educating and guiding patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits;
Emphasizing preventative care and disease management;
Managing overall patient care regarding lifestyle and development issues;
Refers patients to appropriate medical/health care specialists when indicated.
