Job Details: Mercer University School of Medicine is searching for a Physician, Internal Medicine/Rheumatology in Macon, Georgia.

Responsibilities :

The Mercer University School of Medicine is seeking a physician to perform full time in a clinical practice at our Mercer Medicine location in Macon, Georgia.

This position is expected to maintain a financially viable clinical practice at our Mercer Medicine downtown Macon location. This is a 12-month professional staff position that will report to the Mercer Medicine Managing Partner.

This position will be eligible for Incentive Compensation based on wRVU production, patient satisfaction scores, and clinic financial performance.

The department is small enough to have a positive, supportive, and collegial atmosphere. The department consists of clinical Internal Medicine physicians and sub-specialists. The department also interfaces and collaborates with the other basic science and clinical departments, including Family Medicine, OB/GYN, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, and Community Medicine.

Clinical Duties: Develop and maintain a financially viable Rheumatology medicine practice at Mercer Medicine

Provide Rheumatology consultations in an outpatient setting, for

Mercer Medicine patients and other patients as requested by community and affiliate hospital physicians.

Clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8-5pm

Actively participate in medical staff committees.

Oversee Nurse Practitioner as delegating or designated physicians as mandated by department needs (when applicable)

Complete all medical record documentation requirements as specified in the medical staff rules and regulations on a concurrent basis.

Qualifications :

M.D. degree from an accredited college/university

Board certified in Rheumatology

Georgia medical license or eligibility for licensure in the State of Georgia

Experience in ambulatory practice setting

Experience with clinical trials or outcomes research desirable; experience in academic medicine environment highly desirable
