Full-time About the Role We are seeking an experienced
Construction Project Manager
with a strong background in
retail construction
to oversee commercial retail projects in the Houston area. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing ground-up and/or interior renovation projects for national retailers, shopping centers, or mixed-use developments. This role requires exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client standards. Key Responsibilities Manage all phases of retail construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans. Coordinate and communicate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensure compliance with all safety standards, building codes, and permitting requirements. Lead weekly project meetings and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders. Oversee subcontractor selection, negotiation, and performance management. Review and approve change orders, RFIs, submittals, and pay applications. Ensure quality control standards are met throughout all phases of construction. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in
retail or commercial construction project management . Proven track record delivering projects in the $1M $50M range. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, scheduling, and cost control. Proficiency with project management software (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, etc.). Excellent leadership, negotiation, and client-facing communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary in the $135K range (commensurate with experience).
