Buyer/Purchasing Agent

The Buyer/Purchasing Agent is responsible for managing all processes related to the purchasing of materials, parts, supplies, and services to support production while meeting delivery requirements and quality specifications. Responsibilities include: coordinating and managing all purchasing activity including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing of products and supplies; facilitating supplier communication to ensure that product requirements and deadlines are met in addition to sourcing new suppliers to meet business requirements; monitoring lead-time, pricing, shipping and quality discrepancies and providing problem resolution as needed; optimizing production efficiency and throughput by focusing on forecasting, inventory planning, and scheduling to ensure on time deliveries by monitoring material availability, capacity levels and inventory controls; updating the MRP system for all acquired information, including pricing, volume breaks and lead times; analyzing changes in materials and supplies to find ways to reduce cost and improve quality; and effectively and continually communicating order status, delivery updates, and changes to all invested departments. Additionally, the Buyer/Purchasing Agent will perform other duties as assigned or requested.
