Join our innovative, world-class team today!Position Specific DescriptionNextEra Energy is currently seeking a SCADA and Controls Engineer who can apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to the solar and battery storage fleet in the Power Generation Division. Performs engineering, troubleshooting, and operation/maintenance-based tasks for PLC's, solar and battery storage controllers and supporting networked applications. Successful candidate will have a sense of accountability and urgency required to make informed decisions regarding engineering complexity, system integrity, safety and regulatory compliance under limited supervision.Responsibilities:Plans and develops engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial complexities which have important impact on major company programsActs as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to individual's fieldCompletes assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitationsProvides technical support to operations and business unit personnelPerforms system testing and documentation for control system changes and upgradesAnalyzes and corrects complex application deficiencies and system issuesProvides technical leadership in the functional specification, design and implementation of control solutionsProvides automation engineering support for failure mitigation, process improvement, data analytics and improving performance targetsEstablishes and/or modifies procedures and guidelines supporting controls and SCADA usersTravels to sites occasionally for onsite troubleshooting supportPerforms other job-related duties as assignedDesired Qualifications:Process Management ConceptsQuality Tools and TechniquesWorking experience with SCADA applications and PLC'sExperience with Modbus and OPCWorking experience with Ethernet and Serial networksWorking knowledge of power fundamentals and voltage controlStrong background in logic development and troubleshootingWorking knowledge of networking and network troubleshootingTravel:
