Summary The Applications Engineer (Sales) supports the operational needs of key accounts in Europe from one of our U.S.-based facilities. This role acts as a bridge between cross‑functional departments and the TMS Europe Sales team to ensure seamless execution. The engineer delivers differentiated RF/microwave interconnect solutions for a broad range of application requirements across various market segments. Qualified candidates demonstrate both technical expertise and a strong commitment to customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as the primary liaison for selected key accounts in Europe, supporting European Program Managers (PMs) and Business Development Managers (BDMs)

Stay current on compliance and regulatory standards applicable to the European region

Travel periodically to Times Microwave Systems' U.S. factories to maintain alignment with production and operational processes

Travel internationally to customer sites in Europe at least 1–2 times per year, aligned with BDM and/or Program Manager strategic objectives, to strengthen relationships and oversee operations

Present technology concepts to customers and partners in support of pre‑sales efforts

Provide expertise and support to sales teams in communicating products, services, and client‑specific needs

Collaborate with BDMs and PMs on cost estimates by reviewing customer documents and consulting with internal teams, including engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing

Perform comprehensive requirements analysis to fully understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products, presenting strengths and trade‑offs

Work closely with customer engineering teams to develop creative and innovative interconnect design solutions

Coordinate with marketing, sales, and customers to address technical issues during product evaluations and drive design‑in/design‑win activities

Support design engineers in creating technical documentation such as product drawings, datasheets, and application notes

Draft or assist in drafting customer‑facing presentations, documentation, and explanatory materials

Generate accurate and complete design packages for production use

Participate in the internal design review and product release process

Collaborate with engineering teams to define testing and evaluation plans when needed

Take end‑to‑end responsibility for both internal and external customer success, from concept to shipment

Support the internal development and manufacturing integration of new products and technologies

Maintain catalog content, datasheets, and technical documentation; author or co‑author technical documents as necessary

Demonstrate polished interpersonal and communication skills, paired with technical expertise to guide customers toward optimal interconnect solutions

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a science, technology, or engineering discipline

3–5 years of experience in sales operations, program/project management, or engineering within a technical or manufacturing environment

Experience with RF products, components, or systems, including amplifiers, mixers, limiters, attenuators, filters, switches, couplers, VCOs, etc.

Familiarity with RF system development at frequencies up to 70 GHz

Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of physics principles (temperature, pressure, corrosion, radiation, etc.)

Previous technical role involving customer interaction

Analytical and innovative approach to problem‑solving

Highly self‑motivated, capable of self‑directed learning, and professional in team and independent settings

Effective multitasker with strong time and task accountability

Willingness to travel 10–20% domestically and internationally
