Description JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Asset Management is responsible for supporting the strategic oversight and performance of a multifamily real estate portfolio, with a focus on Class B & C value-add assets. Working closely with the Vice President and cross-functional leaders, the AVP will help implement business plans, analyze performance data, and ensure alignment with investment goals. This role requires hands-on experience in financial modeling, property performance optimization, and asset strategy execution. EXCELLENCE: Strive for excellence, adapt, innovate, and exceed expectations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Portfolio Support and Oversight Assist in managing the performance of assigned assets through monitoring KPIs, rent collections, leasing trends, and capital improvement plans. Partner with Property Management and Construction teams to ensure property-level execution aligns with strategic objectives. Participate in the execution of capital plans, including tracking timelines, costs, and vendor coordination. Monitor and report on operational and financial performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.Financial Analysis & Reporting Conduct detailed financial modeling for acquisitions, refinances, capital planning, and hold/sell analyses. Assist with quarterly and annual investor reports, variance analyses, and business plan updates. Track key performance metrics, such as NOI growth, economic occupancy, and DSCR compliance.Operations & Renovation Strategy Support the development and tracking of renovation scopes, schedules, and ROI performance. Visit properties regularly to assess physical condition, progress of projects, and team execution. Ensure utility optimization initiatives and cost-saving programs are implemented as planned.Compliance & Insurance Assist with the coordination of lender and JV reporting obligations. Review insurance policies and lender requirements to ensure compliance and minimize risk.Investor & Internal Communication Prepare presentation materials and performance summaries for internal stakeholders and equity partners. Assist with investor inquiries and provide documentation as needed.Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Accounting, Legal, Operations, and Marketing teams to align asset strategy with company goals. Support lease strategy decisions and revenue optimization initiatives through data-driven insights.Team Development & Leadership Mentor junior analysts or associates within the asset management team. Act as a project lead on select initiatives as assigned by the VP or EVP.QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CCIM, CFA, CPA, CPM) a plus.Experience: 10+ years of experience in multifamily asset management, financial analysis, or real estate operations. Demonstrated success managing or assisting with value-add strategies, budgeting, and financial modeling.Skills and Competencies: Proficiency in Excel, and RealPage. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
