Quality Assurance Inspector
Reports to: QA Manager
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Perform in-process and final inspection of division products to determine conformance to specified requirements.
Key Performance Indictors: List two to five measurable tasks that are key to indicating the performance level in this role: • Use of basic inspection tools, including height stand, calipers, micrometers; comparator; Hexagon vision experience is a plus. • Experience fixturing and laying out part for dimensional readings. • Experience reading and deciphering blueprints, performing FAIR dimensional inspection reports. • Performs 1st article inspection on machined parts. • Performs in-process inspection, final inspection, and tool calibration as required to support the inspection department. • Maintain area neat and clean and adhere to all company safety rules and regulations. • Other duties are necessary to maintain the necessary levels of production.
Qualifications and Experience: • High School or Equivalent • Able to read, write, and comprehend the English language. • Blueprint reading • Basic Math / Geometry skills • Aerospace Experience is a plus. • Basic computer skills, including MS Office • Knowledge of various types of measuring instruments • Familiar with ANSI Y14.5 & ASME Y14.85 • 3-4 years of manufacturing or related experience • Frequent: Handle, manual dexterity, lift 5-49 lbs., reach, stand, stoop, and walk. Use personal
protective equipment. • Required: Close vision, color, and depth perception. • Familiarity with Aerospace plating and processing standards, such as standards for anodizing, chem
film, passivation, chrome plating, silver plating, etc. • Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook desired.
Knowledge and experience: • Cable/Harness Assembly in Aerospace and Military Applications • Connector Assembly Experience in Commercial and Military Applications, Soldering Experience per MIL-STD-2000, IPC-610, IPC-620 and/or J-Std-001-Class 3. • Ability to Read & Interpret Blueprints, Schematics, Traveler/Routers, Bills of Material & Wire Lists. • Must be able to understand and follow verbal instructions and be detailed oriented. • Maintain a clean, safe well organized work-station through routine housekeeping. • Familiarity with continuous-improvement techniques.
