The Facilities Specialist provides essential support for laboratory and facility operations, focusing on maintaining equipment, building systems and critical infrastructure. Equipment may include HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, safety, laboratory and production equipment. This role collaborates across departments, including laboratory personnel and shipping/receiving, to ensure smooth and efficient laboratory and facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform corrective and preventative maintenance of plant utilities and mechanical systems Perform hard surface maintenance including general repair of walls and ceiling, flooring, doors, windows and light fixtures. Inspect and coordinate 3rd party work or repairs. Troubleshoot equipment and systems and repair malfunctioning equipment. Perform and coordinate weekly, monthly, and bi-annually maintenance and calibration of general-use equipment, including balances, pH meters, pipettes, DI water systems, refrigerators, and freezers. Manage, schedule, track, and communicate equipment maintenance, calibrations, and repairs with internal stakeholders and service vendors. Record maintenance and calibration records in spreadsheets and laboratory inventory management software. Participate in the rotation of temperature monitoring for all laboratory refrigerators, freezers, incubators, and lab areas using environmental software. This will require response to alarms during business hours and occasionally after-hours response. Identify and create purchase orders for the supply of common laboratory equipment parts and general laboratory needs. Support the delivery of inert gas supplies (nitrogen and argon). Support the disposal coordination of hazardous and biohazard waste, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Assist with the setup and teardown of laboratory workstations or other minor facility repairs/upgrades. Adhere to and promote all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures. Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Skills and Experience:

Hands on or vocational school training and a minimum of 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment. Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols and standard procedures. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in data entry and basic computer applications. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with laboratory safety best practices and waste management procedures. Work Environment:

Work is conducted primarily in a laboratory setting, requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Exposure to potential hazards, including chemicals, biohazards, and mechanical equipment. Moderate physical activity, including handling objects up to 40 pounds and standing/walking for extended periods. Regular stooping, crouching, twisting, kneeling, and squatting may be required. Some duties may involve working in outdoor environments. This is an onsite position located in our Boulder, CO facility Salary Expectation:

$26-28/hr
