General Statement of Duties

The Forsyth County Department of Social Services is seeking a customer-driven and focused individual to join the Medicaid Services Division. This position is located within the Adult Medicaid/Long Term Care Section of the Medicaid Services Division.

Distinguishing Features

The staff member in this role must be flexible and capable of interpreting, communicating, and implementing policies and procedures for all Medicaid programs accurately and within required timeframes, in compliance with internal, state, and federal mandates.

Responsibilities include conducting all tasks related to the initial determination and ongoing redetermination of eligibility for Medicaid applicants and recipients. This includes programs such as Family and Children's Medicaid, Adult Medicaid for the Aged and Disabled (private living), Long Term Care Medicaid, Special Assistance, the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), and the Community Alternative Program (CAP).

Individuals must support the Forsyth County Guiding Principles of WeCare which include Integrity, Awareness, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence Minimum Education and Experience

Graduation from high school or GED and two (2) years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an income maintenance program.

A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.

The preferred candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in Adult Medicaid policy and processing cases in NCFast.

A strong working knowledge of Adult Medicaid programs is essential to establish eligibility for individuals requiring skilled or intermediate nursing facility care, adult daycare, assisted living, and in-home nursing services.

The position also requires the ability to verify both financial and non-financial eligibility factors and accurately calculate complex budget situations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Interpret and apply complex rules and regulations to determine program eligibility. Utilize good judgment in making accurate and timely eligibility decisions. Maintain exceptional organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Perform basic mathematical calculations to assess resource and financial eligibility. Work timely and accurately within strict deadlines. Utilize internal and external universal computer technology and general office equipment effectively. Adapt to a fast-paced, frequentlychanging, team-oriented environment. Effective communication and customer service deliveries. Proficient in basic computer functions and office equipment. Work on-site and within an office type setting, Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM.
