Description
Ruffolo, Hooper & Associates, MD, PA a hospital-based physician group located in Tampa, FL is currently seeking a qualified individual to fulfill the role and duties of Pathologists' Assistant at our hospital locations, under the direction and supervision of a licensed, board-certified pathologist.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under direct or indirect supervision of a pathologist, performs accessioning, dissection, histologic sampling, and gross examination of a full range of anatomical specimens, following established protocols. Performs frozen sections and other intra-operative consultations within the established protocol and procedural parameters. Clearly and accurately describes specimens and their measurements using canned dictation whenever appropriate. Verifies specimen identity to prevent medical errors. Uses correct specimen cassettes and starts tissue processor as needed. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Pathologist POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

Bachelor's degree Graduate of a pathologist assistant program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) ASCP certification preferred
