This key hire will lead the engineering market development in the South-Central US Airport region and serve as the program manager for airport engineering projects. Candidates with piloting experience bring valuable insights to airport engineering, understanding aviation operations to design practical, pilot-friendly solutions. This dual expertise differentiates us and benefits airport sponsors. The leader will also collaborate across disciplines to grow our airport engineering footprint in the region. Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for aviation projects in the region. Lead complex airport infrastructure projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, drainage, utilities, and airside/landside facilities. Guide projects through planning, design, permitting, bidding, and construction, ensuring FAA and local compliance. Act as a primary contact for clients, FAA, and local agencies. Mentor multidisciplinary teams and foster a collaborative work environment. Coordinate with internal departments to integrate planning initiatives. Ensure quality control and deliver accurate, cost-effective solutions. Participate in business development, including client relations and proposals. Represent the company at industry forums and conferences. Stay current with FAA regulations and industry best practices. Contribute to thought leadership and innovation in airport design. Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license required; multi-state licensure or ability to obtain. At least 10 years of progressive experience in aviation and civil engineering; 20+ years preferred. Proven leadership in managing large airport projects. Deep knowledge of FAA regulations, AIP, and related frameworks. Experience with engineering design software (Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, drainage modeling). Strong communication skills and business acumen. Additional Details
