A busy New York hospital is seeking a Clerical Assistant I to provide administrative and front-office support in a fast-paced healthcare environment focused on patient care and service excellence.

Responsibilities:

Perform general clerical duties including data entry, filing, reception, scheduling meetings, and document preparation. Type and prepare correspondence, index medical records, and operate office equipment such as fax machines, computers, and photocopiers. Enter data with a minimum speed of 50 keystrokes per minute. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while assisting patients and healthcare staff. Act as a liaison between administrative departments, physicians, nurses, and patients. Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and internal team members. Support communication, recordkeeping, and office coordination functions. Interact regularly with patients, responding to inquiries and facilitating efficient service delivery.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of clerical or administrative support experience, preferably in a medical office or hospital setting. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required. Working knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.

Please note that the salary range and/or hourly rate range of $20.00 - $25.00 is a good faith determination of potential base compensation offered to applicants at the time of this job advertisement and may be subject to modification in the future.
