The Maintenance & Reliability Engineer is responsible for improving plant reliability, equipment performance, and mechanical integrity within a chemical manufacturing environment. This role ensures alignment of maintenance activities with business objectives, drives preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, leads Mechanical Integrity and Process Safety Management initiatives, and provides technical support for turnaround planning and capital projects. The engineer will play a critical role in enhancing plant safety, efficiency, and productivity while optimizing costs. Responsibilities

Develop, optimize, and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including vibration and oil analysis programs Use reliability tools such as root cause failure analysis, failure mode effects analysis, and reliability-centered maintenance. Monitor equipment performance and implement strategies to improve uptime. Lead the Mechanical Integrity program to ensure compliance with OSHA PSM standards and other regulatory requirements. Prepare and maintain documentation for inspections, MOCs, standard procedures, and audits. Participate in PHAs, safety reviews, and internal/external audits. Provide engineering expertise on fixed and rotating equipment, including tanks, vessels, piping, pumps, compressors, centrifuges, and extruders. Draft equipment specifications and review design documents for new installations or modifications. Guide troubleshooting, repairs, and overhauls of plant systems. Lead and support turnaround planning and execution to ensure safety, quality, budget, and schedule targets are met. Provide technical support to capital projects to evaluate system design reliability and integration with existing operations. Introduce new technologies and work processes to improve maintenance efficiency and reliability in support of corporate Digitalization Transformation. Implement quality improvements within the maintenance department. Drive initiatives to modernize aging equipment while improving safety, health, and environmental performance. Develop and deliver training for maintenance and operations personnel on reliability and MI practices. Actively participate in cross-functional teams to enhance team performance and knowledge sharing. Support development and management of the maintenance budget in collaboration with plant leadership. Collect, analyze, and report maintenance and reliability data to track progress and identify improvement opportunities. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Minimum of 10 years of reliability engineering or maintenance engineering experience in the petrochemical or chemical manufacturing industry. Strong background in PSM, MI, turnaround planning, preventive and predictive maintenance. Proficient with CMMS tools such as SAP, SAP-Primavera, PCMS, or Maximo. Knowledge of fixed equipment design, installation, and inspection. Familiarity or experience with API Standard 510 - Pressure Vessel Inspection Code. Hands-on expertise with rotating equipment troubleshooting and repair. Familiarity with project management, cost accounting, and business performance measures. Strong capability in data analysis, technical troubleshooting, and engineering documentation. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with cross-functional teams, vendors, contractors, and leadership. Ability to lead projects, manage budgets, and influence decisions at multiple organizational levels. Commitment to continuous improvement, safety, and professional development.
