Job Description Summary
Under the supervision of the Office of International Services and Study Abroad (ISSA), the student assistant will primarily support and serve international students.
Specific Duties Greet and service international students Create and update weekly/monthly reports Plan, coordinate, and help lead programs/events Facilitate workshops and follow up sessions Collect data for assessment purposes Manage databases and software programs Support the office's social media presence by creating, scheduling, and sharing posts, stories, and updates that highlight events and important information. Model professionalism, respect, and inclusivity in all interactions. Support International Advisors and International office as needed Minimum Qualifications
Must be a current University of La Verne student with Federal Work Study eligibility for the 2025-2026 academic year Ability to work collaboratively with students and staff Excellent customer service skills Demonstrated cultural awareness Strong oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills Ability to problem solve Experience in developing and facilitating presentations Skills in time management
Preferred Qualifications
Benefits Summary
Employees are eligible for the following benefits:
One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.
University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan - can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.
In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.
Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.
