Sr. Project Engineer - Manufacturing Engineering

Key Accountabilities: Oversee complex manufacturing projects over $100K, including equipment/building implementation for new products in Machining, Assembly, Engine Test, and Final Process. Define project specifications, Statements of Work (SOW), and guidelines per project charter. Procure equipment and resources in collaboration with Purchasing. Execute strategic plans and commission complete project scope, such as 5-axis machining centers. Facilitate communication with internal/external stakeholders on schedules, progress, and issues. Anticipate and address schedule delays, risks, and resource conflicts with corrective action plans. Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve operations and processes. Troubleshoot product issues related to designs, materials, or processes. Propose cost-effective solutions for manufacturing issues and proposals. Gather cross-functional team requirements and propose best practices to meet project schedules and budgets. Analyze complex problems and prepare project plans. Coordinate scheduling and collaboration with designers, vendors, and contractors. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct. Perform special projects as required. Basic Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering and 5 years of experience in engineering and project management, or 9 years of experience in engineering and project management. Preferred Qualifications: Excellent knowledge in industrial/commercial construction, skilled-trade processes, and building maintenance. Excellent knowledge of heavy-duty diesel engine manufacturing. Excellent knowledge related to the design of manufacturing processes in assembly, testing, and painting of internal combustion engines. Excellent project management skills and strong understanding of project management. Excellent organization, planning, and follow-up skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly where problems are extremely complex and unusual. Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning restrictions, construction practices, contract provisions, licensing requirements, and insurance requirements in industrial and commercial construction. Strong knowledge of drafting nomenclature and conventions. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people. Strong leadership skills. Strong negotiation skills. Strong ability to handle multiple deadlines. Good presentation skills. Ability to travel, both foreign and domestic. Proficient with PC, MS Office Suite, and MS Project. German language skills Project management professional (PMP) certification.
