As an Electrical Controls Engineer,
as an Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, manufacture, and system integration of the final product. You will oversee the design and implementation of sophisticated electrical and control systems while working within a team-based environment to solve customer problems.
Responsibilities:
· Interface with teams, clients and vendors to gather and define system requirements
· Define equipment control systems and interfaces for non-hazardous and hazardous environments
· Collaborate closely with cross-functional project teams to develop intricate electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams in strict adherence to project requirements and industry standards.
· Configure hardware and software packages according to client design specifications
· Program PLCs and configure HMIs utilizing ladder logic and programming languages
· Conduct comprehensive testing and troubleshooting of control systems to ensure optimal functionality and reliability in demanding industrial environments.
· Oversee the factory acceptance test (FAT) and installation of complex electrical systems, ensuring strict compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
· Communicate plan progress to project stakeholders and manage project deliverables to agreed schedule and scope
· Validate and commission facility systems following established execution protocols, and ensure the successful turnover of the system to the customer
· Perform post-sale service support by remotely aiding field service team on escalated controls issues
· Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening that relationship with our clients and team
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
· Three to five years of direct experience as an electrical engineer working on automated processes/system integration in a food, beverage, consumer health product, or other industrial manufacturing environment
· A track record of proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and controls issues
· Experience in creating and designing automation controls systems (PLC, SCADA)
· A solid understanding of industrial control panel design and fabrication (UL508A)
· A solid understanding of instrumentation and controls (I&C)
· A solid understanding of engineering documentation (P&IDs, process flow diagram, standard operating procedures)
· Experience with field instrumentation, control system installation, and configuration
· Familiarity with machine safety applications, electrical power distribution, and control panel design
· Proficiency in written and verbal technical communication, including generating reports and conducting group presentations
· A willingness to travel for client and company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, and conventions
o Expected travel less than 10%
