A well-established and respected aerospace and defense manufacturer is seeking a
Quality Engineer
with deep expertise in
AS9100, ISO9001, and FAA Part 145
standards. This hands-on compliance role plays a vital part in maintaining and improving the organization's
Quality Management System (QMS)
and ensuring alignment with regulatory, customer, and internal requirements. The QE will lead and support
internal audits, regulatory audits (FAA, DCMA, NADCAP), customer inspections , and continuous improvement efforts. This role reports directly to Quality leadership and offers high visibility in strategic and technical initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
Plan, schedule, and execute
AS9100, FAA Part 145 , and
internal QMS audits Support external audits, including
FAA, NADCAP, DCMA, and customer audits. Conduct
root cause analysis
(8D, 5 Whys) and lead corrective/preventive actions. Create, revise, and maintain
QMS documentation : quality manuals, SOPs, work instructions. Train and guide internal teams on
QMS policy, compliance practices , and procedural improvement. Collaborate with
Engineering, Manufacturing, and Inspection teams
to resolve product and process quality issues. Address and investigate
customer complaints
and non-conformances Participate in the
review and disposition of nonconforming material. Champion
LEAN, Six Sigma, and other quality/process improvement methodologies Facilitate cross-functional corrective action boards and quality improvement initiatives to drive effective change. Utilize data-driven decision-making and KPIs to monitor and enhance compliance. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in
Quality Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline Minimum
5 years of quality experience
in Aerospace, Defense, Nuclear, or FAA-regulated environments Certified
AS9100 Internal Auditor Proven experience implementing and auditing to
AS9100/ISO9001
standards Working knowledge of
FAA regulations
(14 CFR Part 21 & 145) is highly preferred Strong documentation skills with the ability to write and maintain QMS procedures Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities Analytical, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with a high degree of professional integrity Proficient in
Microsoft Office Suite ; experience with
ETQ Reliance
or similar QMS software is a plus
