Real Estate and Facilities is an organizational unit within the USO Administration Division. The mission of Real Estate and Facilities is to support and promote the value of Georgias higher education learning environments, and we provide strategic direction and leadership for a variety of campus facilities functions including planning, design, construction, management, and operations. Job Summary

The USG Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Program Manager supports and promotes a system-wide strategic focus on EHS compliance and performance. Major duties and responsibilities include: develop policies, procedures, and guidelines to support USG institutional EHS programs and responsibilities; develop, monitor, and report on system wide EHS goals and objectives; conduct and facilitate EHS related training; provide technical review, advice and guidance on a broad range of EHS and facilities related issues. Responsibilities

Support and promote a system-wide strategic focus on EHS compliance and performance. Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines to support USG institutional EHS programs and compliance responsibilities. Develop, monitor, and report on system wide EHS goals and objectives. Facilitate opportunities for EHS training and professional development; develop model USG EHS training programs; conduct live and technology-based training sessions. Provide technical review, advice and guidance on a broad variety of EHS related issues. Periodic site visits to assess EHS issues and evaluate program priorities and implementation. Support other system functions and projects related to real estate, planning, and facilities maintenance/operations/management (e.g. review transaction/project due diligence; review design and specifications for laboratory construction and renovation; coordinate building demolition processes). Organize and facilitate USG EHS Advisory Committee to encourage professional collaboration and sharing of EHS expertise and resources across the system. Liaise with relevant Federal and State regulatory agencies. Collect and manage centralized records as appropriate (e.g. underground storage tanks, chemical inventories). Related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, environmental engineering/science, or other related natural science discipline.Minimum of five years professional EHS experience

Preferred Qualifications

Extensive professional EHS experience in a higher education institutional context Graduate degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, environmental engineering/science, or other related natural science discipline. Minimum of five years professional EHS experience Relevant professional certification, including Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), and/or Professional Engineer (P.E.) Knowledge of EHS related state and federal laws relevant to a higher education institutional context. Knowledge of EHS standards and best practices in a higher education institutional context. Knowledge of project management principles and practices. Knowledge of computers, proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications and EHS/EMS applications. Skill in data gathering, management, synthesis, and analysis. Skill in oral and written communication and presentation. Skill in the development and delivery of live and virtual EHS-related training. Skill in interpersonal relations and collaboration with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time and resources effectively in alignment with dynamic organizational priorities. Ability to effectively manage and participate in multiple projects and initiatives. Ability to manage sensitive issues and information with proper discretion and diplomacy. Ability to travel for work activities, as required, within the State of Georgia. USG Core Values
