This is a professional position within Academic Services that is responsible for the analysis of complex business problems of varying complexity and assessing how information systems can be utilized to address them. The position works with our Learning Management System (Brightspace) and the Intra-Georgia Registration Sharing System (INGRESS) to provide application support, conduct training, perform on-call duties, and develop documentation and specifications to further the ongoing higher education goals of the University System of Georgia (USG). Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering: Gather and analyze requirements, creating clear and comprehensive documentation, and ensure that all stakeholders have a shared understanding of project goals Testing and Quality Assurance: Collaborate with team on testing strategies, including functional testing, user acceptance testing, and validation of new features, updates, and integrations, as appropriate Provide Specialized LMS Support: Manage and support D2L Brightspace environments and related tools, ensuring functionality aligns with academic services and institutional needs. Technical Administration: Perform technical tasks across multiple Brightspace environments, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting, to ensure a stable and efficient service environment. Collaborate on Service Implementations: Work closely with team members to design, develop, and implement processes and solutions for new and updated services, adhering to IT best practices and operational standards Enhance User Experience: Identify opportunities to improve LMS functionality and processes, proactively addressing system limitations and implementing scalable solutions that enhance the user experience. Vendor and Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a liaison with the USG, D2L, and campuses, ensuring effective communication and resolution of technical issues and service changes. Monitor and Report: Track system performance, generate usage analytics, and prepare reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives Provide Training: Deliver training, create user guides, and maintain up-to-date documentation to support end users, including faculty, staff, and administrators Adapt to Evolving Needs: Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies, applying flexibility to meet the dynamic and time-sensitive demands of the academic service environment. Performs related duties as assigned Required Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree required. Masters degree is preferred. Over three years of related LMS administration experience required. Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with using a Learning Management System Experience using a ticketing system Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of Board of Regents policies and procedures. Knowledge of D2L Brightspace and related tools, including configuration, maintenance, and integration with other systems. Knowledge of end user training and support principles. Knowledge of functionality testing procedures, including user acceptance testing. Knowledge of process improvement principles and change management processes. Knowledge of third-party application integrations and data interoperability. Knowledge of USG internal operations business procedures. Skill in collaborating with vendors, institutional teams, and stakeholders. Skill in decision making and problem solving, particularly in time-sensitive situations. Skill in monitoring system performance, analyzing usage data, and preparing actionable reports. Skill in oral and written communication, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences. Skill in providing technical support and troubleshooting for end users. Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and service demands. Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
