Ensures high patient satisfaction through excellent customer service, quality food, accurate menus, timely tray delivery and pickup, and other departmental services. Performs clerical and computer duties to provide high-quality meal service to patients. Job Responsibilities:
Answer and process telephone calls courteously, explain diets, and assist patients with menu selections. Help patients in their rooms with menu completion if needed, encouraging nutritionally balanced choices. Correct patient menus for diet changes, check 24-hour reports for patient status updates, and communicate special needs to relevant departments. Deliver meals to patients or coordinate with other Room Service Associates, prepare bedside tables, and respond to patient or family inquiries about meals. Prepare floor stock sheets, manage supplies, rotate stock, and maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen areas, including filling out HACCP sheets. Mix and portion tube/special feedings according to instructions, label accurately, and maintain formulary room cleanliness and inventory. Qualifications:
Some High School education required; vocational or technical training in Nutrition preferred. 1-3 years of related work experience required. Basic computer skills and familiarity with web-based applications. Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of therapeutic diets and hospital food service operations. Core Competencies:
Decision making, problem solving, independence of action, effective communication, knowledge of procedures, teamwork, and customer service skills. Physical Requirements:
Light work involving exerting up to 20 pounds of force, with periods of standing and movement throughout the hospital campus. All staff must be vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19 as a condition of employment. Additional Information:
